I thought making this a Top 5 List would be harder to do and so I picked out the top Bond songs that resonated with me on a deeper level. There are a few others that really deserve a mention and I give them that at the bottom of the post! Hope you enjoy!
No 5 – The World is not Enough – Garbage
No. 4 – Live and Let Die – Wings – with Paul McCartney
No. 3 –
The Living Daylights – A-Ha
No. 2 – A View To A Kill – Duran Duran
No. 1 – You Know My Name – Chris Cornell
HONORABLE MENTION –
Sheena Easton – For Your Eyes Only
Goldeneye – Tina Turner
Goldfinger – Shirley Bassey (Gotta love those damn horns)
Tomorrow Never Dies – Sheryl Crow
Interesting choices. Believe it or not, today on the way home from work I said to myself, “what are the 5 best Bond themes?” I didn’t rank them 1-5, but I think the 5 that stand out most to me are:
– Goldfinger
– Live and Let Die
– They Spy Who Loved Me (Nobody Does it Better)
– For Your Eyes Only
– A View to a Kill
Honorable mentions to Thunderball and Goldeneye
great top 5…I forgot how good “for your eyes only” is…
Great picks!! Nice to see The World is not Enough on here, the movie is crap but I LOVE that song by Garbage. It’s definitely NOT trash, ahah. I also like Tomorrow Never Dies even though generally I’m not a fan of Sheryl Crow. The Living Daylights’ 80s vibe is cool as well, I just love that movie so much!
Glad you liked the list, Ruth! I’ve been finding out lately just how many people really love The Living Daylights. I liked both of Dalton’s movies. A-Ha did an awesome job on the tune. Crow’s song grew on me over time after I kept repeating the movie and one day I heard Garbage’s song before I saw the film and at the time did not even equate the two lol. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
I love the diversity of Bond songs and the sounds of them. So many good artists have been chosen and delivered.
Couldn’t agree more! Now I’m tempted to do a top 10 list. Honestly, I had forgotten about this post, lol. Thanks for checking in. I appreciate it! 🙏👌
I’d love to see a top 10 list Vic.
I think I’ll give it a go then! So many great tunes to choose from! My top 5 may remain unchanged but you never know lol.
That’s great man, looking forward to it. And I’ve reviewed every one of the film’s on my blog, if you’re interested or haven’t read them.
I’ll check them out! I’m way overdue to catch up on your page. Been so busy of late, I sometimes don’t have enough time to post content on my own blog lol. I’ll check in this weekend! I love me some Bond movie reviews!
Cheers bro, I’m way overdue a catch up on your page too.
Here’s my recap post. https://vinnieh.wordpress.com/2015/10/22/bond-movies-recap/

Cheers Vic, I like hearing from fellow Bobd fans.
I’ll be sure to leave some feedback!
You rock Vic.
maybe a little 😁
No you rock a lot man, you’re a cool dude.
very kind of you to say. I appreciate that 🙏
Anyone who’s a Bond fan rocks in my book. What movie is your favourite if you had to choose?
Of the Bond films? Oh man that’s tough. I have my favorites of each different Bond actor but if I had to choose one overall, I’d have to go with Goldfinger, I suppose. It’s the one that encapsulates everything a Bond movie needs to be a true Bond flick and that one, along with Casino Royale and Goldeneye, is the one I revisit the most.
Funnily enough my favourite is Goldginger. Though I think all the movies have at least some memorable moments and merit.
Oh most definitely. Totally agree! FYEO is my fave of the Moore entries.
I liked the grittier tone of the that film coming off the over the top Moonraker.
Yes! It was refreshing. It was an actual spy and espionage thriller in the true sense that Fleming would have been proud of. It is the one Moore entry that I truly respect and hold in high regard above the others.
Everything in For Your Eyes Only had a serious vibe to it and it was more grounded in the best possible way.
I always find that Octopussy often gets a bad rep, but I love it. The exotic atmosphere really made an impact on me as well as the athletic ladies.
It is indeed one of the more exotic Moore films, if not the most. Regrettably, it is one of the few Moore films I revisit the least but I don’t hate it.
I’ve always wanted to visit India after watching it.
Sorry the last comment should have said Bond fans, I was typing quickly.
Haha no worries. I knew what u meant 😉
I often spell things wrong when I type quickly. Really got to slow down!
Happens to us all man!
Locations for me are such an integral part of the series, some of them are breathtaking.
So many are just beautiful and I love how they are incorporated into the stories as a backdrop. I’d love to visit the Bahamas and Jamaica.
Bahamas looks gorgeous and full of sun.
