Here are some pictures of Movie Theaters in the Bronx and Manhattan I used to frequent while living in New York City. Some pics are recent and others are a bit older. (I’m trying not to date myself) Enjoy!

    • Cool! I’m glad you loved it, Misty. It was fun. I have so many fond memories of seeing so many awesome (and some really godawful) movies in these beautiful theaters. Thanks for reading and stopping by. 😀

  1. Life long in New York and I think I have been to the Bronx like 5 times in my life lol. Same for Queens. Only went there when I would go to Met games. Mostly in the 80s. Last time I was in queens was 96 for a Mets game.

Mostly I am on Staten Island. I grew up in Brooklyn, but barley go there anymore.

    • Been to Queens a few times as well as Staten Island too. I lived in the Bronx and Manhattan was my stomping grounds for a long time. Been to so many Comic cons and Movie cons and premieres. Had a blast. I think I may do more posts involving Movie Theaters across the country too.

    • I would love to, thanks. I was thinking of doing a post on the more elegant and beautifully structured Theaters of Manhattan and The Bronx of the early 30’s and 40’s. Thanks for reading!

    • thanks bro! I must say that I took those awesome theaters for granted back then but now living in Upstate New York I long once in a while for them and re-living the days of awesome movies on those huge screens. Thanks for stopping by, I’m glad you liked the post!

    • Thank you Andy! I took them a bit for granted while growing up there and practically living in them lol. Now, though, I miss them terribly. I do wish to re-visit them one day though. (The ones that are still around anyway) Thanks for stopping by!

      • I wish I had more classic looking theaters around me growing up. The “art house” theaters that remain are not using their unique setting to their full advantage and I miss having classic theaters around.

      • Ah, I see. We have 2 Art House Theaters here in Rochester but the more classic theaters are gone. It’s too bad. We have nothing but mall theaters and mega-plexes. Ugh. Oh well. Better than nothing I suppose.

Sound off in The Den!
