Issue 85 finds Rick and the survivors in pretty bad shape after having to defend themselves from a large herd of undead in Alexandria. Abraham and the rest are starting to burn the dead not looking forward to the job ahead. And Abraham is forced to shoot zombie Jessie after Glenn freezes up. Meanwhile Rick is at Carl’s bedside while he is recovering from a gunshot wound to his face. He confesses something to Denise which appears to really disturb her.

Rosita admits something to Abe that leaves him speechless. Rick then addresses everyone and like the big man he is he admits his mistakes. He also gets the gang to make suggestions on how to make things safer and better in the community. Along with all of this he still feels defeated and lost when it comes to Carl. But things do get better at the end of # 85. Another knock out Issue of TWD.
